Pata Negra - Guitarras callejeras

Pata Negra, the real flamenco blues band from Spain. One of my favourite bands ever, they have such a disctintive sound, a wicked combination and/or alternation between flamenco, rhumba, blues and rock. They got it! Here the song "Ratitas divinas", maybe the best song by Pata Negra.

Otha Turner And The Afrossippi Allstars- From Senegal To Senatobia

Fife and drum music is a close relative of blues. Meanwhile blues was born in the plantations in the delta of the Mississippi, with poverty and long and hard working hours, up in the hills, where people lived from their own land, they were still playing the music from their ancestors. Pentatonic scales were brought to the by the USA african people who were sold as slaves. The mix of african and european folk is the root of all the popular music since. Blues, country, country blues, blue grass, rythm and blues, jazz, ska, rocksteady , rock and roll, pop... Almost  everything we listen to nowadays comes from something similar to this fife and drum music, so RESPECT.
